Disclosure: VPSForexTrader publishes this blog and is one of the two Forex VPS providers compared here. Every fact below comes from the two providers’ own public pages, terms and help articles, read on October 29, 2026, or, where marked, from written answers by VPSForexTrader’s operations team. The places where FXVM offers more are stated plainly.
FXVM and VPSForexTrader both sell Windows VPS plans for running MetaTrader terminals and Expert Advisors (EAs, automated trading programs) around the clock. A VPS (virtual private server) is a share of a physical server that stays online when your own computer is off. FXVM is run by ThinkHuge Ltd, which gives a Hong Kong address and lists FXVM and ForexVPS among the “Brands we own” on its own site [1][3].
This comparison sticks to what each provider publishes and what a buyer can check: plan specifications, MetaTrader capacity, data centres and facility codes, Windows versions, backups, trial and refund terms, payment methods and list prices. Latency is covered by where and how each provider measures it, not by headline figures. Published uptime terms and their exclusions are included; support response times are not scored because no comparable binding response commitment was established for both providers. Each section ends with a short note on which kind of setup the difference affects.
The short version
Price to start: FXVM’s smallest VPS costs $25.00 a month; VPSForexTrader’s costs $31.99 [1][4].
Price per GB of memory: $8.00 to $10.00 at VPSForexTrader against $12.50 to $23.00 at FXVM, on monthly list prices [1][4].
Hardware stated: VPSForexTrader names AMD EPYC processors, ECC memory on its hosts and NVMe storage; FXVM’s VPS pages state none of the three [1][4][5].
Cities: FXVM lists up to 16 for Lite, Basic and Advanced, but High Freq only in New York, London and Tokyo. It names four Equinix facility codes; VPSForexTrader serves four cities and names a facility in each [1][4].
Windows: FXVM offers 2019, 2022 or 2025; VPSForexTrader installs Windows Server 2025 Standard on every plan [1][4].
Backups: VPSForexTrader states weekly or daily backups per plan; FXVM lists “Automatic Backups” while its terms say they are “not to be relied on” [2][4][6].
Trial and refund: FXVM’s trial runs 7 days against VPSForexTrader’s 3, while VPSForexTrader’s money-back window runs 14 days against FXVM’s 7 [2][4][6].
Payment: both take PayPal, cards and crypto through CoinGate; FXVM adds Skrill and seven checkout currencies, VPSForexTrader bills in US dollars, pounds or euros [1][4][5].
How this comparison was built
Timeframe. All prices, plans and terms were read on the providers’ own pages on October 29, 2026, and retain that snapshot unless marked. Uptime terms, FXVM’s High Freq location set, and VPSForexTrader’s first-month offer and London latency timestamp were rechecked on October 30, 2026.
Sources. FXVM’s plans page, order store, homepage, trial, latency, Virtual Desktop and dedicated server pages, Terms of Service, separate Service Level Agreement and knowledge base articles; Think Huge’s website; VPSForexTrader’s location pages, plan cards, trial page, broker latency page and Terms and Conditions; written answers from VPSForexTrader’s operations team for facts its pages do not cover (processor models, resource allocation, storage failover, terminal testing, latency method, trial rules and payment processing); and Microsoft’s Windows Server hardware requirements.
Evaluation dimensions. Plan specifications, MT4 and MT5 capacity per plan, data centre locations and facility codes, latency measurement method, Windows version, uptime commitments and service credits, backups, trial and refund terms, payment methods and currencies, and current list prices. Prices are monthly billing in US dollars without promo codes; codes and longer terms are shown separately and labelled. FXVM’s pages showed euro prices to a visitor from Lithuania and dollar prices elsewhere; its checkout defaults to US dollars [1].
Ordering rationale. FXVM is described first in every section and VPSForexTrader second, because VPSForexTrader publishes this blog. The order says nothing about quality.
| Provider | Operator | VPS plans | Monthly list price | Cities | Windows | Trial | Money-back |
| FXVM | ThinkHuge Ltd, Hong Kong | 4 | $25.00 to $69.00 | Up to 16; High Freq only NY, London, Tokyo | 2019, 2022 or 2025 | 7 days, $0.99 | 7 days, VPS only |
| QuantVPS | 4 of 4 | 3 | $31.99 to $79.99 | 4 | 2025 Standard | 3 days, $0.99 | 14 days, all paid plans |
Conflict of interest. VPSForexTrader publishes this guide and sells the plans described here. Its summary section lists more limitations than strengths, and the guide points to FXVM where FXVM fits better.
Caveat. Neither provider publishes independently audited performance tests, and this guide did not run any. Terminal ratings are each provider’s own figures; per-GB and per-terminal prices are arithmetic on published numbers.
Plans side by side
FXVM sells four VPS plans and VPSForexTrader three. FXVM’s plan cards count “CPU Cores” and VPSForexTrader’s say “AMD EPYC CPU 3 CORE” and so on; this guide counts both as vCPUs (virtual CPUs, usually one hardware thread each on a shared host, which a host can oversubscribe unless it says otherwise) [1][4].
| Plan | Monthly price | vCPUs | Memory | Storage | Terminals (provider’s figure) | Price per GB |
| FXVM Lite | $25.00 | 2 | 1.5 GB | 60 GB SSD (store: 40 GB) | 1 to 2 | $16.67 |
| FXVM Basic | $35.00 | 2 | 2.5 GB | 80 GB SSD (store: 60 GB) | 3 to 4 | $14.00 |
| FXVM Advanced | $50.00 | 2 | 4.0 GB | 90 GB SSD (store: 70 GB) | 4 to 6 | $12.50 |
| FXVM High Freq | $69.00 | 1 (3.4 GHz+; store: 3.8 GHz+) | 3 GB | 110 GB SSD (store: 90 GB) | 1 to 2 | $23.00 |
| VPSForexTrader Smart | $31.99 | 3 | 4 GB | 120 GB NVMe with HA | Up to 4 | $8.00 |
| VPSForexTrader Boost | $54.99 | 6 | 6 GB | 180 GB NVMe with HA | Up to 7 | $9.17 |
| VPSForexTrader Max | $79.99 | 8 | 8 GB | 250 GB NVMe with HA | Up to 10 | $10.00 |

What differs. FXVM’s plans start smaller and cheaper, from 1.5 GB at $25.00, and stop at 4 GB. VPSForexTrader’s start at 4 GB and go to 8 GB. At 4 GB, VPSForexTrader Smart costs $18.01 less than FXVM Advanced and has one more vCPU, NVMe instead of SSD and 30 GB more storage than FXVM’s plans page lists [1][4]. FXVM’s own pages disagree on storage: the plans page lists 60, 80, 90 and 110 GB, while the order store lists 40, 60, 70 and 90 GB for the same plans, and the High Freq clock is 3.4 GHz or more on one and 3.8 GHz or more on the other [1].
Which setup this affects. A single small EA on the lowest budget starts cheaper at FXVM, within the memory limit discussed in the capacity section. Anyone who needs 4 GB or more pays less per gigabyte at VPSForexTrader, and only VPSForexTrader sells VPS plans above 4 GB. Both providers also sell products outside this comparison: FXVM a Virtual Desktop for one terminal at $15.00 and dedicated servers from $270.00, VPSForexTrader dedicated servers from $165.00 [1][4].

Processor, memory and storage
What differs. FXVM’s VPS plan pages name no processor model, do not mention ECC memory and describe storage as SSD without saying whether it is NVMe [1]. They do say “Dedicated resources ensure your trading tools perform seamlessly”, and the homepage adds “We’ll never overload our servers; guaranteed.” [1]. FXVM names hardware only for its other products: a “Shared CPU Ryzen 7950X3D” with NVMe storage on the Virtual Desktop page, and “Intel Xeon” processors with 4 to 6 cores for dedicated servers [1].
VPSForexTrader’s plan cards say AMD EPYC, “RAM 4 GB ECC” (6 and 8 GB on the larger plans) and “NVMe SSD with HA” [4]. Its operations team gives the models, AMD EPYC 7702P in London and Amsterdam and AMD EPYC 7443 in New York and Hong Kong, and says the CPU and memory allocated to virtual machines never exceed the physical capacity of the host [5]. “With HA” means the storage is replicated: if a physical server fails, the virtual machines on it restart on another server using the same storage, typically within a few minutes [5]. ECC is a statement about VPSForexTrader’s host servers; it is not something a customer can check from inside the VPS.
Which setup this affects. Terminals that run for weeks without a restart, and setups that load long price histories, depend on memory and disk more than on the vCPU count. A trader who wants the hardware named in writing has it at VPSForexTrader; at FXVM, the plan pages give resource sizes only.
MT4 and MT5 capacity per plan
What differs. FXVM gives three sets of figures. Its plans page rates Lite for 1 to 2 terminals, Basic for 3 to 4, Advanced for 4 to 6 and High Freq for 1 to 2 [1]. Its knowledge base article of June 6, 2024 rates Lite at 3 to 4 MT4, Basic at 4 to 5 and Advanced at 5 to 6, using a guideline of 3 to 4 MT4 terminals “(with a handful of charts) per CPU core”, while a second article of the same date gives 2 to 4 MetaTrader 4 or 5 terminals per core [1]. VPSForexTrader prints one figure per plan, up to 4, 7 and 10 MT4 or MT5 terminals, and its operations team says the figures come from lab tests with typical EA setups on demo accounts, with no more than 12 terminals per Windows user [4][5].
Memory sets a floor under any of these figures. Microsoft lists 2 GB as the minimum for Windows Server 2022 and 2025 with the Desktop Experience and recommends 4 GB for Windows Server 2025 [7]. FXVM Lite’s 1.5 GB is below that minimum. Treating 2 GB as a planning convention for Windows (a minimum requirement, not a measurement), FXVM Basic leaves about 0.13 GB per terminal at 4, enough for light MT4 terminals only, since an idle MT5 terminal with a couple of charts uses roughly 150 to 300 MB (a rough working figure); FXVM Advanced leaves 0.33 GB at 6, and VPSForexTrader Smart 0.50 GB at 4.
Which setup this affects. Five or six light MT4 terminals fit FXVM Advanced on FXVM’s own figures; at VPSForexTrader the same count points to Boost at $54.99. MT5 terminals, or MT4 terminals with many charts and indicators, need the lower end of FXVM’s ranges or the larger VPSForexTrader plans. With either provider, plan below the top of the rating if the EAs are heavy.
Data centre locations and facility codes

| Manchester, Washington DC, Dubai | Listed on the plans page only | No |
Sources: FXVM plans, trial, latency and city pages [1]; VPSForexTrader location pages [4]. Read October 29, 2026.
What differs. FXVM covers far more cities, but its count changes from page to page: 16 on the plans page, 14 on the Virtual Desktop page, 13 city pages, 12 in the homepage statistics and 9 Equinix cities on the trial and latency pages [1]. The High Freq plan is offered in New York, London and Tokyo only; the up-to-16 figure applies to Lite, Basic and Advanced. It gives a facility code for four: LD4, NY4, AM6 and TY8. VPSForexTrader serves four cities and names the facility for each: Equinix LD3 in London, Equinix NY2 in New York, Serverius in Amsterdam and Equinix HK4 in Hong Kong [4]. In London and New York the two use different Equinix buildings.
Which setup this affects. Start with your broker’s trade server. If it is in Tokyo, Chicago, Frankfurt, Singapore, Zurich, Mumbai or Sydney, only FXVM sells a server in that city. If it is in London, New York or Amsterdam, both do, and both run trials there, so you can compare the ping from each building before paying for a month. In Hong Kong both sell plans, but neither runs a trial there.

Figure 2: Cities each provider serves and whether a facility code is published, October 29, 2026. Lite, Basic and Advanced have the broad FXVM footprint; High Freq is limited to New York, London and Tokyo. Sources: FXVM plans, trial, latency and city pages [1]; VPSForexTrader location pages [4].
Latency: where and how each provider measures it
What differs. FXVM publishes one table of 108 brokers with one value per broker for each of nine cities: London, New York, Amsterdam, Tokyo, Chicago, Zurich, Frankfurt, Singapore and Mumbai [1]. The table carries no date, and a note under it says “latency tests were performed for MT4 servers not MT5”. The same page defines latency as the delay between placing an order and its execution, while FXVM’s knowledge base article of September 17, 2024 describes it as a round trip from the VPS to the broker’s server and back, measured with a ping test [1].
VPSForexTrader publishes location tables with the time of their last update. On the October 30 recheck, London’s page showed “Data updated 2026-10-30 05:01 UTC” [4]. The full table captured on October 29 listed 1,065 broker servers under 235 broker names, including 240 demo servers and 117 rows with “TBD” in at least one city. Its operations team describes measurements through the MT4/MT5 application [5]. A displayed timestamp identifies that snapshot; it does not establish a guaranteed hourly refresh interval.
Which setup this affects. If your broker appears in FXVM’s table and not in VPSForexTrader’s, FXVM’s figure is the only vendor number available, but it is undated and for MT4. An MT5 trader, or anyone who needs a current figure for a specific live server, should log in to the broker from a trial server and read the ping in the terminal. Latency depends on the network path to the broker’s trade server, so two buildings in the same city can still differ.
Uptime commitments and service credits
FXVM publishes uptime commitments and service credits. Its plans market 100 percent uptime; section 2 of its Terms states 99.99 percent availability, while section 17 sets a 99.9 percent network, data-centre and power guarantee with a credit ladder. The separate SLA also states more than 99.99 percent and a different credit formula [1][2][8]. Those thresholds should not be treated as identical. Ask FXVM which schedule applies to the order, including maintenance and other exclusions.
VPSForexTrader’s location pages display a 99.99 percent uptime claim, but its Terms publish no uptime-percentage guarantee or service-credit schedule [4][6]. Its operations team confirms no contractual uptime guarantee [5]. The marketing figure is therefore not comparable to FXVM’s published credit-backed commitment.
Which setup this affects. A trader requiring a written uptime remedy has published terms to assess at FXVM; at VPSForexTrader, plan around the documented redundancy and your own recovery arrangements rather than an assumed SLA credit.
Operating system
What differs. FXVM’s plans table lists Windows Server 2022 or 2025 for Lite and 2019, 2022 or 2025 for the other plans, while the notes behind the same cells mention Windows Server 2016 [1]. The plans page and order store show no separate licence fee. VPSForexTrader’s plan cards print “Windows 2025 Server Standard” on every plan, its pages list no other version, and its operations team says Windows Server 2025 is what each line delivers [4][5].
Which setup this affects. A platform, EA or DLL that runs only on an older Windows version needs FXVM, and its buyer should confirm the version at order. For Windows Server 2025, Microsoft recommends 4 GB of memory, which FXVM Advanced and every VPSForexTrader plan meet [7].
Backups
What differs. FXVM lists “Automatic Backups” on every VPS plan without a frequency [1]. Its Terms of Service say these “are not intended to keep up-to-date backups of customer data” and “are not to be relied on by the subscriber” [2]. VPSForexTrader’s plan cards state weekly backups on Smart and daily backups on Boost and Max [4]. Both providers’ terms make the customer responsible for their own copies, and neither states how long backups are kept on the pages read [2][6].
Which setup this affects. Anyone with EA settings, templates, licence files or trade history on the server should keep a copy off the server with either provider. Daily backups on Boost and Max shorten the gap if a restore is needed.
Trial and refund terms
What differs. FXVM’s trial costs $0.99 (€1 to visitors shown euro prices) for 7 days on a server with 2 vCPUs, 1.5 GB and 40 GB of SSD, in nine Equinix cities [1]. The pages read do not say whether a card is required or what the trial becomes after 7 days; FXVM’s terms say services renew automatically [2]. VPSForexTrader’s trial costs $0.99 for 3 days on the Smart specification, 4 GB, in London, New York and Amsterdam, and the page states “31.99USD after trial period” [4]. Its operations team says a card is required, one trial is allowed per customer and an email reminder is sent before the paid period starts [5].
On refunds, FXVM’s terms give a 7-day money-back guarantee on VPS products, a full refund “that applies to fully paid VPS products”, and state that “Dedicated Servers and discounted products are nonrefundable” [2]. They do not say whether an order with the site-wide 15 percent code counts as discounted. Transaction fees are not refunded, crypto payments are refunded as account credit, and the guarantee can be amended or withdrawn without notice. VPSForexTrader’s terms state: “All plans (except trial plans) include a 14-day money-back guarantee”, which covers its dedicated servers too [6].
Which setup this affects. A trader who wants a full trading week to watch an EA, and whose strategy runs in 1.5 GB, fits FXVM’s trial. A trader who wants to test the plan they will actually buy, or keep a refund option for two weeks, fits VPSForexTrader.

What differs. FXVM takes Skrill and bills in seven currencies; VPSForexTrader shows Maestro among its card logos and bills in three [1][4][5]. FXVM’s marketing pages showed euro prices to a visitor from Lithuania and dollar prices elsewhere on October 29, while its checkout defaults to US dollars [1].
Which setup this affects. A trader who pays through Skrill, or in Canadian, Australian or New Zealand dollars or rupees, fits FXVM. Anyone paying FXVM in crypto should note that refunds come back as account credit [2].

Sources: FXVM plans page and order store [1]; VPSForexTrader plan cards [4]. October 29, 2026.
What differs. FXVM has the lower entry price and a 15 percent code, FXVM4LIFE, advertised in a banner across its pages; it allows prepaying several months but publishes no multi-month discount [1]. VPSForexTrader displayed 12 and 24-month rates on October 29, which its operations team describes as temporary marketing offers, and a FLASHTRADE code advertised on its homepage took a further 15 percent off annual VPS plans that day [4][5]. Its Halloween popup, rechecked October 30, offered 20 percent off the first monthly invoice through a location-specific code sent by email; that is separate from the temporary term offers and should not be assumed to stack with them. VPSForexTrader’s prices exclude VAT [4]. Per terminal, at the top of each plans-page range, FXVM costs $8.33 to $34.50 a month and VPSForexTrader $7.86 to $8.00; at the bottom of FXVM’s plans-page ranges the cost is $12.50 to $69.00. At the higher figures in FXVM’s knowledge base, FXVM Lite works out at $6.25 per terminal.
Which setup this affects. One small EA on the lowest monthly budget points to FXVM Lite, within the memory limit noted above. At 4 GB or more, VPSForexTrader costs less every month, and less again on its longer terms while they are offered.
Which setup each provider fits
FXVM fits a broker server in a city VPSForexTrader does not serve, such as Tokyo, Chicago, Frankfurt, Singapore, Zurich, Mumbai or Sydney; software that needs Windows Server 2019; a trial that covers a full trading week; payment by Skrill or in a currency other than dollars, pounds or euros; and a single light MT4 terminal at the lowest monthly price [1].
VPSForexTrader fits brokers in London, New York, Amsterdam or Hong Kong, setups that need 4 GB or more, traders who want the processor, ECC memory, NVMe storage and backup frequency stated in writing, and anyone who wants a 14-day refund window on the plan they buy [4][5][6].

Frequently asked questions
Are FXVM and ForexVPS the same company?
They share an owner. FXVM’s footer names “ThinkHuge Ltd. dba FXVM.com” at a Hong Kong address, and Think Huge’s own site lists FXVM and ForexVPS among the “Brands we own”, with a case study covering both [1][3]. The two sell under separate brands, sites and price lists.
Which is cheaper for four MT4 terminals?
It depends on which FXVM figure you use. VPSForexTrader Smart is rated for up to 4 terminals at $31.99 a month with 4 GB of memory [4]. On its plans page, FXVM rates Basic at 3 to 4 terminals for $35.00 with 2.5 GB, and Advanced at 4 to 6 for $50.00 with 4 GB. FXVM’s knowledge base rates Lite at 3 to 4 MT4 terminals for $25.00, but Lite’s 1.5 GB is below Microsoft’s 2 GB minimum for Windows Server with the Desktop Experience [1][7].
Does FXVM use NVMe storage?
Its VPS plans list SSD storage without saying whether it is NVMe [1]. NVMe is named only for the single-terminal Virtual Desktop. VPSForexTrader lists NVMe storage with high availability on every VPS plan [4].
How does each provider measure latency?
FXVM’s table is undated and says its tests were for MT4 rather than MT5 [1]. VPSForexTrader describes application-based measurements and stamps its tables with the last update time; London showed October 30, 2026 at 05:01 UTC when rechecked [4][5]. This does not verify an hourly refresh guarantee. Test the current ping to your own broker from a trial server.
Can I get my money back if the VPS does not suit me?
VPSForexTrader refunds any paid plan within 14 days; its trial is excluded [6]. FXVM refunds fully paid VPS products within 7 days of the first order, and its terms exclude dedicated servers and discounted products [2].
Which provider fits a broker in Tokyo, Chicago or Frankfurt?
FXVM. It lists servers in Tokyo (Equinix TY8), Chicago and Frankfurt, and its trial runs in all three, while VPSForexTrader has no server in any of them [1][4]. Check FXVM’s plans page for the plan sizes offered in your city, and test the ping to your broker during the 7-day trial.

Editorial note
VPSForexTrader publishes this guide and is one of the two providers compared. FXVM is described first in every section, and VPSForexTrader’s summary lists more limitations than strengths. The uptime section records FXVM’s published credit-backed commitment and the absence of an equivalent published VPSForexTrader guarantee. The guide points to FXVM for brokers in cities VPSForexTrader does not serve, for Windows Server 2019, for a longer trial, for Skrill and other currencies, and for a single light terminal at the lowest price.
Prices, plans and terms were read on each provider’s own pages on October 29, 2026, on monthly billing in US dollars without promo codes unless labelled otherwise. The marked uptime, location, promotion and timestamp checks were repeated October 30. VAT or sales tax may apply. Facts about VPSForexTrader that its public pages do not cover come from its operations team and are marked [5].
Terminal ratings are each provider’s own figures and have not been independently tested. Memory-per-terminal figures use Microsoft’s 2 GB minimum as a planning convention, not a measurement.
This guide covers hosting infrastructure only. It does not constitute financial advice, and trading performance depends on broker execution quality, market conditions and trader skill, none of which a VPS can fully control. If you find a figure that has changed or is wrong, contact us and we will correct it and record the change below.
