Futures Trading VPS in November 2026: 6 Providers Compared on NinjaTrader Memory, Chicago Access and Windows Server 2025

As of November 2026, a futures trading Forex VPS comes down to 8 GB of memory on four or more cores, Chicago access for strategies that react within milliseconds, and the platform licence. VPSForexTrader Max is the best Futures Trading VPS in November 2026 for automated NinjaTrader 8 strategies that hold positions for minutes or longer, the only selected 8 GB plan with eight cores and ECC memory (8 AMD EPYC cores, 8 GB ECC, $79.99/mo monthly).

Six providers, listed by monthly price of the selected plan:

  • Lowest price for 8 GB: Cloudzy 8 GB, $26.48/mo (50 percent sale; $52.95/mo standard) for 4 vCPUs, 8 GB DDR5, 240 GB NVMe. No Chicago region; Windows is a 180-day evaluation licence.
  • Chicago with the building named: VPSServer.com, $30/mo plus an unpriced Windows licence for 4 cores, 4 GB, 80 GB NVMe in CoreSite CH1. No listed plan above 4 GB.
  • NinjaTrader pre-installed at checkout: QuantVPS VPS Lite, $59.99/mo for 4 AMD EPYC cores, 8 GB DDR4, 75 GB NVMe in Chicago or New York. Its 0.52 ms CME figure is a route figure, not a measurement.
  • Chicago with a CME latency figure: ChartVPS Alpha Mark-1 Pro, $70/mo for 2 Ryzen 9 9950X cores, 8 GB DDR5, 128 GB NVMe, Windows Server 2025 included. Two cores sit below NinjaTrader’s recommended quad-core.
  • Eight cores with ECC memory at 8 GB: VPSForexTrader Max, $79.99/mo or $59.99/mo billed annually for 8 AMD EPYC cores, 8 GB ECC, 250 GB NVMe, Windows Server 2025 in New York, London, Amsterdam or Hong Kong. No Chicago location; NinjaTrader is not pre-installed.
  • Chicago and New York from an exchange-infrastructure operator: Beeks Gold, £110/mo before VAT (£97 base plus £13 Windows Server 2022) for 4 vCPUs, 6,656 MB. No retail plan reaches 8 GB.

Prices and specs checked November 5, 2026; full table below. VPSForexTrader publishes this comparison, and the methodology explains how that conflict is handled.

The six hosts at a glance (November 2026)

Each row shows the host’s lowest-priced listed plan with at least 8 GB of memory, or its largest retail plan where none reaches 8 GB, on monthly billing. Prices and specifications were verified against each provider’s own pages on November 5, 2026; re-verify every figure live before purchase. Windows licensing is shown separately where it costs extra. Latency figures are vendor-stated and not independently replicated. “Not publicly specified” means the provider does not document the item on its own pages. Rows run by the monthly price of the selected plan, lowest first; Beeks, priced in pounds, is listed last.

Why Chicago and 8 GB decide a futures VPS

Every CME futures order ends up in the same place. CME Group says the trade matching engines for all its Globex products sit in a data centre in Aurora, Illinois, about 35 miles from its Chicago headquarters, in a building owned and operated by CyrusOne [1]. A VPS (a rented Windows server in a data centre) in Chicago gives your platform the shortest path to that building; a VPS in New York or London adds the distance between those cities and Illinois to every order.

Futures platforms also ask more of the server than MetaTrader does. NinjaTrader recommends a quad-core processor and 8 GB of memory for NinjaTrader 8 [2], MultiCharts lists 8 GB as its minimum and 32 GB as its recommendation [4], and Sierra Chart recommends 16 GB [3]. Many entry-level VPS plans have 4 GB.

This guide compares six hosts on what futures platforms need: memory and processor cores, Chicago and New York locations, the Windows Server version, how each platform’s licence treats a second computer, and whether the platform comes pre-installed. The hosts are Beeks, ChartVPS, Cloudzy, QuantVPS, VPSForexTrader and VPSServer.com. It is a guide to choosing a server, not a ranking of brokers or prop firms.

For strategies that depend on milliseconds at CME, start with Chicago locations and test the route to the broker or data feed. Then check that the selected plan meets the platform’s memory and processor requirements. The summary and the comparison tables below run by the monthly price of the selected plan, lowest first; the individual provider sections are presented alphabetically.

How this comparison was built

This comparison is compiled from provider documentation, live pricing pages, platform vendors’ published requirements and licence terms, exchange documentation, and vendor-published performance data, captured on November 5, 2026. Vendor-published figures are labelled as such. Providers were evaluated on data centre disclosure, ECC memory, Windows version, published latency figures, memory and cores against platform requirements, Chicago and New York locations, pre-installed platforms, uptime and maintenance terms, and monthly price. Where a provider does not publish a specification, the gap is stated rather than estimated.

The short-answer summary and the comparison tables run by the monthly price of the selected plan, lowest first; the individual provider sections are presented in alphabetical order. Neither position is a performance ranking. The comparison assesses documented locations, memory and processor resources, Windows licensing, platform installation, uptime terms and total cost against each workload. For latency-sensitive CME strategies, Chicago access and the measured path to the broker or data feed matter more than a documentation score.

When a host does not mention ECC memory, that is a gap in what it has written down, not proof that its servers lack it. Prices are on monthly billing unless a longer term is named, and exclude VAT. Beeks bills in pounds. Its November 5, 2026 prices are kept in GBP because the product page and retail configurator differ, and Windows is an additional charge [13]. No VPS host has its latency figures independently audited.

What futures platforms need from a server

The platforms in this guide publish very different requirements, and most are for a whole computer running one installation.

Platform table: NinjaTrader 8: Windows 11, or Windows Server 2016 or later, 64-bit; 2 GB minimum; 8 GB recommended; Quad-core 2 GHz or faster recommended. Sierra Chart: Windows 7 to 11, Server 2008 to 2016 and higher, 64-bit only; minimum not published; 16 GB recommended; at least 4 cores recommended. MultiCharts: Windows 11 (the only version listed); 8 GB; 32 GB; Quad-core 3 GHz minimum, 8 cores at 4 GHz recommended. Rithmic R Trader Pro: Windows 10 or later; 4 GB (prop firm help page); not published; Dual-core or better. TradeStation: Windows 10, 64-bit; 8 GB; 12 GB or more for power users; not stated here. Quantower: Windows 10 or 11; not published; 16 GB; 4 cores or better.

NinjaTrader 8 says it “will utilize all available CPU cores and additional memory resources” [2]. Its own performance tips add that running 200 charts uses more processing power than running 20, and they advise reducing the days loaded on each chart and restarting NinjaTrader daily [2]. Sierra Chart’s support staff have said 8 GB “will be fine” for its software, below the 16 GB on its download page [3]. Rithmic’s own pages could not be read for this guide, so the R|Trader Pro figures come from a prop firm’s setup guide and are labeled as such [5].

Tradovate is different. It describes itself as a cloud-based platform with desktop apps for Windows and Mac, holds bracket orders on its own servers, and says orders are stored in the cloud if your connection drops [6]. A VPS adds less there for manual trading. Sierra Chart’s staff make a similar point for their software: for manual trading only, a VPS “would not make sense” [3].

Chicago, New York and the distance between them

Four of the six hosts sell servers in Chicago: ChartVPS, VPSServer.com, QuantVPS and Beeks. VPSForexTrader’s US location is New York, and Cloudzy’s US regions are New York, Miami, Dallas, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Utah.

Only two hosts publish a figure to CME, and they label them differently. ChartVPS says typical latency from its Chicago infrastructure to CME is 0 to 1 ms and calls it a typical network measurement, without describing the method [9]. QuantVPS gives 0.52 ms to CME from Chicago and says it is a published route figure, “not a live measurement” [11]. VPSServer.com names its Chicago building, CoreSite CH1 at 427 South LaSalle Street, but publishes no CME figure, and its own FAQ calls the same site a Digital Realty location [10].

Rithmic, the order-routing service behind many prop firm accounts, connects through regional gateways. A prop firm’s setup guide calls its “Chicago Area” gateway “recommended for most US-based traders”, and Quantower’s help centre names a Rithmic “Aurora Chicago” server for live accounts [5]. Cloudzy’s NinjaTrader page instead suggests New York, Dallas and Miami for Continuum, Rithmic and CQG connections [12].

How far is New York from Chicago? Microsoft publishes no New York region, but its nearest pair, Virginia (East US) to Illinois (North Central US), shows a median round trip of 19 ms over the 30 days to July 30, 2026 [7]. That is a scale, not a quote for any host here. For a strategy that reacts within milliseconds at CME, that distance matters; for an automated strategy that holds positions for minutes or hours, the platform’s memory and uptime usually matter more.

CME’s own plans may change the picture later. Its notice of May 25, 2026 says Globex production markets will begin migrating to a new Google Cloud Chicago region in late 2027, with physical co-location in Aurora continuing, and a release of October 12, 2026 targets client testing for mid-2027 [1]. For now, the matching engines are in Aurora.

Licensing on a server

A VPS is a second computer as far as most licences are concerned. The rules differ by vendor.

Licence table: NinjaTrader: The licence lets you “install on a single device” (EULA, June 12, 2026). NinjaTrader support staff say live licence keys “are for non-concurrent use”: close NinjaTrader on one computer before trading from another. Sierra Chart: Install on as many computers as you want; each account can run on 2 computers at the same time by default, up to 3 depending on the service package. MultiCharts: “A single license may be used by its owner on one computer at a time”; a backup PC needs no extra licence. TradeStation: You may install on a second computer, but not log in from two computers at the same time under one user. Quantower: One paid licence “cannot be used on several computers simultaneously”.

Sources: vendor licence terms and support pages [2] to [6].

Market data has its own rules. Sierra Chart notes that exchange market data “can only be accessed on one computer system at a time unless you pay more in exchange fees”, and that a data or trading service may refuse a second simultaneous connection [3]. So the safe pattern is one live platform session, on the VPS, with your home computer used only to connect to it.

None of the hosts sells NinjaTrader licences. QuantVPS says platform licences and market-data subscriptions “remain separate” [11], ChartVPS says vendor licensing remains with the trader [9], and VPSForexTrader says you install NinjaTrader and activate it with your own credentials [8].

Which tiers are too small for NinjaTrader 8 with several charts

NinjaTrader’s 2 GB minimum keeps the platform running; its 8 GB recommendation is what several charts, order-flow indicators and strategies need [2]. Measured against that, the 4 GB tiers here are below the recommendation: VPSForexTrader Smart, QuantVPS Starter, ChartVPS Alpha Mark-1, Cloudzy 4 GB, Beeks Silver and the largest plan on VPSServer.com’s pricing page. VPSForexTrader Boost (6 GB) and Beeks Gold (6,656 MB) are closer but still short.

The hosts’ own guidance points the same way. VPSForexTrader says Smart “suits a lean chart set and one or two strategies”, while Boost and Max add headroom for heavy charting [8]. QuantVPS describes its 4 GB Starter as “for one chart or one bot” and rates Lite for 1 to 3 charts or strategies and Pro for 3 to 5 [11]. Cloudzy labels its 1 GB plan “NT8 single workspace” and its 2 GB plan for 2 to 3 charts [12], both below NinjaTrader’s recommendation, and the 1 GB plan below its 2 GB minimum.

Memory is not the only limit. ChartVPS Alpha Mark-1 Pro reaches 8 GB on 2 cores, below the quad-core processor NinjaTrader recommends; Alpha Mark-2 Pro has 4 cores and 16 GB for $120 [9]. VPSForexTrader Max is the only selected 8 GB plan here with eight cores [8]. The cheaper memory-qualified plan is not necessarily the cheapest plan that meets both CPU and memory recommendations.

Maintenance windows against the CME week

CME FX futures trade from Sunday 17:00 to Friday 16:00 Central Time, with a 60-minute break each day from 16:00 [1]. A maintenance window that stays inside the weekend takes a platform offline only while the market is closed.

QuantVPS publishes a primary maintenance window from Friday 22:00 CT until CME Globex futures reopen, normally Sunday 17:00 CT. Its pricing page and SLA, both checked November 5, 2026, agree on that window; exchange holidays can extend it. This is a period when maintenance may be scheduled, not a continuous weekly outage. Actual interruptions are usually brief, most weeks have none, and scheduled and emergency maintenance are excluded from its SLA [11]. VPSForexTrader publishes no maintenance window. Its homepage says accounts are not suspended for overdue payment on active forex trading days; that payment policy does not establish a maintenance schedule, and its Terms allow maintenance without notice [8]. ChartVPS and Cloudzy publish no fixed window and exclude scheduled maintenance from their SLAs [9][12]. Beeks and VPSServer.com publish no window [10][13].

1. Beeks

Beeks
source: beeksgroup.com

Infrastructure tier: retail VPS from a listed trading-infrastructure company
Locations: Chicago and New York, plus London, Frankfurt, Hong Kong and Tokyo

Beeks Financial Cloud Group sells retail VPS plans in Chicago and New York among six cities [13]. Gold, its largest retail tier, has 4 vCPUs, 6,656 MB of memory and 75 GB of storage. On November 5, 2026, its retail product configurator showed £97 a month before VAT as the base price, plus £13 a month when Windows Server 2022 was selected for Chicago, giving £110 a month before VAT. Silver’s £55 base similarly became £68 with Windows. The group’s VPS page separately listed Silver at £57 and Gold at £100 before VAT. These are conflicting first-party prices, so the selected OS, billing period and final order must be checked. The advertised annual discount applies to the base subscription; do not assume it also discounts the Windows add-on.

The store sizes its plans in MetaTrader instances: about 9 for Gold and 6 for Silver, as guidelines [13]. It mentions MetaTrader and cTrader support but not NinjaTrader or other futures platforms, and no retail plan reaches NinjaTrader’s recommended 8 GB. It does not name its Chicago or New York data centres and publishes no latency figures. Setup takes one to two hours while markets are open and up to 24 hours at weekends. Billing is in pounds only, refunds apply only within 24 hours of buying, and no uptime SLA is published.

Strengths

  • Chicago and New York from a company that runs exchange infrastructure
  • a yearly price with two months free

Limitations

  • no retail plan reaches NinjaTrader’s recommended 8 GB
  • sizing guidance only in MetaTrader instances
  • data centres not named and no latency figures
  • billing in pounds only
  • refunds only within 24 hours
  • no published uptime SLA

2. ChartVPS

source: chartvps.com

Infrastructure tier: managed trading VPS on AMD Ryzen 9 9950X
Locations: Chicago (two data centres), New York (three), Dallas, London, Frankfurt, Singapore and Tokyo

ChartVPS is the trading name of Nitrode Corporation of Toronto, Canada [9]. On November 5, 2026, the live Alpha pricing selector showed two ranges on Ryzen 9 9950X. Standard Mark-1 has 2 cores, 4 GB of DDR5 and 128 GB of NVMe for $50 a month; Mark-2 has 3 cores, 8 GB and 256 GB for $80; Mark-3 has 4 cores, 16 GB and 384 GB for $140. Pro Mark-1 has 2 cores, 8 GB and 128 GB for $70; Pro Mark-2 has 4 cores, 16 GB and 256 GB for $120; Pro Mark-3 has 8 cores, 32 GB and 512 GB for $180. Pro Mark-1 lists 4.2 GHz idle and 5.7 GHz maximum; the other displayed Alpha tiers list 4.3 GHz idle and 5.7 GHz maximum. Windows Server 2025 and 2022 are offered without an OS surcharge. The separate Gamma line adds a GPU; its Gamma Mark-1 example was $100 with 3 cores and 10 GB. A first-month promotion is separate from these monthly list prices.

Of these six providers, ChartVPS documents a CME latency figure labelled as a typical measurement, platform pages for seven futures platforms, and processor clock speeds. It states 0 to 1 ms from Chicago to CME, while warning that a broker or data provider may use a different endpoint [9]. Its platform pages name R|Trader Pro, Tradovate, NinjaTrader, Sierra Chart, MultiCharts, TradeStation and Quantower. Platform help is included; pre-installation is not specified. It does not name its data centre buildings.

Its SLA sets a contractual 99.9 percent a month, with credits from 5 percent of the monthly fee below 99.95 percent up to 100 percent below 98 percent, claimed within 30 days; scheduled maintenance is excluded [9]. Its marketing pages speak of 99.99 percent and a “100% SLA”, which the SLA itself does not promise. Every plan includes a daily full-system snapshot stored off the server. ECC memory is stated on the Alpha and Gamma series pages and on the Delta plan cards, but not on the Alpha and Gamma plan cards. Fees are non-refundable except for defective service claimed within 30 days, and no trial is listed.

Strengths

  • Chicago with a CME latency figure labeled as a measurement
  • Windows Server 2025 included
  • published processor clock speeds
  • daily off-server snapshots on every plan
  • a contractual SLA with a full credit schedule

Limitations

  • data centre buildings not named
  • ECC stated on series pages but not on the Alpha and Gamma plan cards
  • the cheapest 8 GB Alpha Mark-1 Pro has 2 cores, below NinjaTrader’s recommended quad-core
  • marketing uptime figures exceed the contractual SLA
  • no fixed maintenance window, and scheduled maintenance is excluded
  • no trial, and refunds only for defective service

3. Cloudzy

source: cloudzy.com

Infrastructure tier: general-purpose cloud VPS with trading-labelled plans
US locations: New York, Miami, Dallas, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Utah; no Chicago

Cloudzy has the lowest hosting price here for 8 GB: 4 vCPUs, 8 GB of DDR5 memory and 240 GB of NVMe for $26.48 a month during a 50 percent sale, against $52.95 normally [12]. The 4 GB plan costs $14.48. Its NinjaTrader page leaves installation to the customer. The Windows VPS page lists Server 2022, 2019, 2016 and 2012 as one-click images; select Server 2022 if using the configuration described here. Cloudzy’s licensing guide states that Windows comes with a 180-day evaluation licence and that the customer must obtain a suitable full licence afterward. That cost is not published or included in the hosting price. It does not name its data centre buildings or state the memory’s ECC status [12].

Cloudzy labels its plans for NinjaTrader use: 1 GB as “NT8 single workspace”, 2 GB for 2 to 3 charts, 4 GB for automated strategies and 8 GB for heavy NinjaScript and backtests [12]. The 1 GB and 2 GB plans sit at or below NinjaTrader’s 2 GB minimum, and every plan below 8 GB sits below its recommendation [2].

Its SLA (May 2026) promises 99.95 percent uptime. Credits are paid only on a support ticket: downtime of more than 20 minutes and up to 36 hours earns the hourly cost of the server for the time lost, and more than 36 hours earns the full monthly fee [12]. Planned maintenance is excluded, and no window is published. New sign-ups can get a refund within 14 days.

Strengths

  • the lowest price for an 8 GB plan here, with 240 GB of NVMe
  • New York plus five other US regions
  • a published SLA with service credits
  • a 14-day refund

Limitations

  • no Chicago region
  • no permanent Windows licence in the price, and no published licence cost
  • data centre buildings not named
  • ECC memory status not publicly specified
  • credits only on request, with planned maintenance excluded and no window published
  • the headline price depends on a 50 percent sale

4. QuantVPS

QuantVPS
source: quantvps.com

Infrastructure tier: trading VPS on AMD EPYC and Ryzen, focused on futures platforms
Locations: Chicago, New York, London, Dublin, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Tokyo and Singapore

QuantVPS is built around futures platforms. Its NinjaTrader page says to “Select NinjaTrader at checkout for pre-installation”, and its platform list includes NinjaTrader, Rithmic, Tradovate, Sierra Chart, MultiCharts, TradeStation and Quantower [11]. Its Chicago location is described as CME-adjacent, with a published route figure of 0.52 ms to CME that QuantVPS says is not a live measurement. It does not name the building.

The Standard line uses AMD EPYC with DDR4: Starter (2 cores, 4 GB, 50 GB, $29.99) for 0 to 1 charts or strategies, Lite (4 cores, 8 GB, 75 GB, $59.99) for 1 to 3, and Pro (6 cores, 16 GB, 150 GB, $99.99) for 3 to 5 [11]. The corresponding Performance plans use Ryzen 9 9950X with DDR5 ECC at $39.99, $79.99 and $129.99, with the same memory and storage sizes. These selected monthly plans were checked November 5, 2026. QuantVPS’s Windows VPS page offers Server 2025 or 2022; confirm the chosen image when ordering. Every VPS plan on both lines lists automatic off-site backups; dedicated plans instead list RAID 1 storage. The current sale page offered 60 percent off the first month on November 5, 2026 [11].

Its SLA, updated October 25, 2026 and checked November 5, sets a 99.999 percent monthly target, with credits of 10 percent below target, 25 percent below 99.9, 50 percent below 99.0 and 100 percent below 95.0. Requests are due within 30 calendar days after the affected month ends. Planned maintenance may be scheduled from Friday 22:00 CT until futures reopen, normally Sunday 17:00 CT; the window is not an outage lasting all weekend, and emergency maintenance can occur outside it [11]. The refund policy, also updated October 25, limits the 14-day window to a new customer’s first eligible, undiscounted standard VPS subscription payment. Dedicated and discounted orders are excluded. The sale page’s broader money-back wording does not remove those written eligibility conditions.

Strengths

  • Chicago and New York
  • NinjaTrader pre-installed when selected at checkout
  • chart and strategy guidance per plan
  • a 99.999 percent monthly target with a published credit schedule and a maintenance window ending at the normal Sunday futures reopen
  • DDR5 ECC memory on the Performance line

Limitations

  • data centre building not named
  • the CME figure is a route figure, not a measurement
  • ECC not publicly specified on the Standard line
  • Windows image must be selected or confirmed; the current VPS page offers Server 2025 or 2022
  • the 4 GB Starter is rated for 0 to 1 charts or strategies
  • refunds only on new undiscounted standard plans

5. VPSForexTrader

VPSForexTrader page
source: vpsforextrader.com

Infrastructure tier: managed forex VPS on AMD EPYC with ECC memory and high-availability NVMe storage
Locations: Equinix NY2 New York, Equinix LD3 London, Serverius Amsterdam, Equinix HK4 Hong Kong; no Chicago

VPSForexTrader has hosted forex VPS since 2011 [8].

VPSForexTrader Max is a managed Windows VPS designed for NinjaTrader 8 and other Windows trading platforms that need 8 GB: 8 AMD EPYC cores, 8 GB of ECC memory, 250 GB of NVMe storage with high availability, daily backups and Windows Server 2025 Standard, for $79.99 a month, or $47.99 a month on a 24-month term [8]. It is the only 8 GB plan in this comparison with eight cores, which matters for a platform that uses every core it is given. For NinjaTrader traders whose strategies are not sensitive to the New York to Chicago distance, or who also run MT4 or MT5 on the same server, Max covers NinjaTrader’s recommended memory and processor count in one plan.

The trade-off is location. VPSForexTrader’s US servers are in New York, and it publishes no latency figure to CME, so a strategy that depends on milliseconds at the exchange is better placed in Chicago. Its broker latency tables cover forex brokers, not futures gateways.

Smart (3 cores, 4 GB, $31.99) and Boost (6 cores, 6 GB, $54.99) sit below NinjaTrader’s recommended 8 GB; the provider’s own plan guide reserves Smart for “a lean chart set and one or two strategies” [8]. NinjaTrader is not pre-installed: the NinjaTrader page says you install and activate it with your own credentials. The MetaTrader 5 page notes that MT4, cTrader and NinjaTrader can run alongside MT5 within a plan’s resources. Its pages cite 99.99 percent uptime, but no published SLA backs the figure, and the Terms disclaim liability for outages. A $0.99 three-day trial runs on Smart only, in New York, London or Amsterdam, so it can test connectivity but not NinjaTrader at its recommended memory. The 14-day money-back guarantee covers every paid plan.

Fits: NinjaTrader 8 traders running automated strategies that hold positions beyond a few seconds, or traders who run futures and forex platforms on one server, and want ECC memory and Windows Server 2025. Less ideal if: your strategy depends on the shortest path to CME, you want NinjaTrader pre-installed, or you need a written uptime SLA.

Strengths

  • ECC memory stated on every plan
  • Windows Server 2025 Standard by default
  • the only 8 GB plan here with eight cores
  • daily backups on Boost and Max
  • a $0.99 three-day trial

Limitations

  • no Chicago location
  • no published latency figure to CME
  • NinjaTrader is not pre-installed
  • Smart and Boost sit below NinjaTrader’s recommended 8 GB
  • the trial runs on Smart only and is excluded from the 14-day money-back guarantee

6. VPSServer.com

VPSServer
source: vpsserver.com

Infrastructure tier: general-purpose cloud VPS
Locations: Chicago, New York, Dallas, Miami, Los Angeles, Seattle, Atlanta and Silicon Valley, plus Europe and Asia

VPSServer.com is a general cloud host with a NinjaTrader page and a Chicago location. Its Chicago page names CoreSite CH1 at 427 South LaSalle Street, a carrier-neutral building in the city, though its FAQ calls the same site a Digital Realty location [10]. It offers Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022 and 2025 in Standard and Datacenter editions, and its NinjaTrader page says you install NinjaTrader yourself over remote desktop.

The published plans are small for futures platforms. The pricing page lists 1 GB for $4, 2 GB for $14 and 4 cores with 4 GB and 80 GB of NVMe for $30 a month, with up to 5 TB of traffic [10]. Larger servers are built in a configurator, and the page says prices exclude “managed services, add-ons and licenses”, so the Windows licence is extra at a price it does not state.

Its SLA promises 99.9 percent availability, allows 8 hours of downtime a year, and pays one month’s credit for the failed service, capped at $5,000 and once in 12 months, claimed within 14 days; its NinjaTrader page speaks of 99.95 percent [10]. A 30-day trial covers one server worth up to $100, with the deposit refunded if you cancel within the trial. After that, refunds are at its discretion, and none is given for the current month.

Strengths

  • Chicago with the building named
  • Windows Server 2016 to 2025 offered
  • a 30-day trial up to $100 of server value
  • a written SLA with a defined credit

Limitations

  • the pricing page lists plans only up to 4 GB, below NinjaTrader’s recommendation
  • the Windows licence is extra and unpriced
  • the Chicago operator is named differently on one page
  • no CME latency figure
  • NinjaTrader is not pre-installed
  • refunds at its discretion after the trial

Mistakes that cost futures traders money

Hosting a latency-sensitive strategy far from Aurora. The CME matching engines are in Aurora, Illinois [1], and Microsoft’s Virginia to Illinois round trip is 19 ms [7]. If your strategy reacts within milliseconds, choose a Chicago host.

Buying a 4 GB plan for NinjaTrader 8 with several charts. NinjaTrader recommends 8 GB and a quad-core processor [2], and the hosts’ own guidance reserves their 4 GB plans for one chart or a lean setup [8][11].

Running one NinjaTrader licence on two computers at once. NinjaTrader staff say live keys are for non-concurrent use [2]. Close the platform at home before it trades on the VPS.

Comparing prices without Windows. Cloudzy’s $26.48 includes only an evaluation licence, and VPSServer.com’s $30 excludes the Windows licence [10][12]. Beeks Gold’s £97 retail base becomes £110 a month before VAT when its £13 Windows Server 2022 option is selected [13]. Compare the full usable configuration.

Paying for a VPS to place manual Tradovate orders. Tradovate holds orders and brackets on its own servers [6]; a VPS helps more with automated strategies than with manual clicks.

Never restarting the platform. NinjaTrader advises restarting daily and loading fewer days on each chart [2].

Which host fits which futures trader

For NinjaTrader strategies that react within milliseconds at CME, compare Chicago hosts and measure the actual path to the broker or data feed. ChartVPS Alpha Mark-1 Pro ($70) has 8 GB on 2 cores and a CME figure labelled as a typical measurement; its Pro Mark-2 ($120) reaches the recommended 4 cores and adds 16 GB. QuantVPS Lite ($59.99) has 8 GB on 4 cores and installs NinjaTrader if selected at checkout; Pro ($99.99) is described for 3 to 5 charts or strategies [9][11]. These are vendor specifications, not an independent performance ranking.

A trader running automated NinjaTrader strategies that hold positions longer, or running NinjaTrader alongside MT4 or MT5 on one server, fits VPSForexTrader Max at $79.99 a month, or $47.99 on 24 months, with eight cores, ECC memory and Windows Server 2025 in New York.

Sierra Chart and MultiCharts users should size up: Sierra Chart recommends 16 GB and MultiCharts 32 GB [3][4]. Examples include ChartVPS Alpha Mark-2 Pro with 16 GB ($120), Alpha Mark-3 Pro with 32 GB ($180), and QuantVPS Pro with 16 GB ($99.99) [9][11]. Outside Chicago, VPSForexTrader Dedicated FX Pro gives 16 GB of ECC memory on a whole physical server at $165 a month in New York, with 8 cores and 16 threads, two 250 GB SSDs in RAID 1 and Windows Server 2025 Standard, as checked on November 5, 2026 [8]. It meets Sierra Chart’s stated memory recommendation, but its 16 GB does not meet MultiCharts’ 32 GB recommendation. A trader with a suitable full Windows Server licence who accepts a location outside Chicago can compare Cloudzy’s 8 GB plan at $26.48, subject to its sale terms [12].

Three findings from this comparison

Four of the six hosts sell servers in Chicago, but only ChartVPS labels its CME latency figure as a measurement; QuantVPS calls its figure a route figure [9][11].

Most entry tiers are too small for NinjaTrader 8 with several charts. Beeks has no retail plan at 8 GB, and VPSServer.com’s pricing page stops at 4 GB [10][13].

A VPS is a second computer for licensing. Every platform in the licensing table except Sierra Chart limits a licence to one computer at a time [2] to [6].

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a Chicago VPS for futures trading?

Only if your strategy depends on milliseconds at the exchange. CME’s matching engines are in Aurora, Illinois [1], and four hosts here sell Chicago servers. For automated strategies that hold positions longer, memory, cores and uptime usually matter more than the last few milliseconds.

How much memory does NinjaTrader 8 need on a VPS?

NinjaTrader lists 2 GB as the minimum and recommends 8 GB with a quad-core processor [2]. Among the selected lowest-priced 8 GB plans, hosting prices range from $26.48 at Cloudzy (sale price, without a permanent Windows licence) through $59.99 at QuantVPS Lite and $70 at ChartVPS Alpha Mark-1 Pro to $79.99 at VPSForexTrader Max [8][9][11][12]. All prices checked November 5, 2026. The cheapest 8 GB ChartVPS option has only two cores, so memory alone does not establish that it meets the CPU recommendation.

Can I use one NinjaTrader licence on my home PC and a VPS?

Not at the same time. NinjaTrader’s EULA licenses installation “on a single device”, and its support staff say live licence keys are for non-concurrent use [2]. Close NinjaTrader at home before trading on the VPS.

Which hosts pre-install NinjaTrader?

QuantVPS installs it when you select it at checkout [11]. VPSForexTrader, Cloudzy and VPSServer.com leave it to you; ChartVPS includes platform help but does not say it pre-installs; Beeks’ store does not mention it [8][9][10][12][13].

Does a VPS help with Tradovate and Rithmic?

Less for Tradovate, which runs in the cloud and holds orders on its own servers [6]. R|Trader Pro and Rithmic-connected platforms run on your Windows machine and connect through a gateway such as “Chicago Area”, so a Chicago VPS shortens that path [5].

Editorial note

Plans, prices, locations, SLAs, platform requirements and licence terms in this guide were read from provider, platform vendor and exchange websites and verified on November 5, 2026. Prices are on monthly billing unless a longer term is named, and exclude VAT; providers run promotions often, so confirm the amount at checkout. Latency figures from hosts are their own and have not been independently tested; Microsoft’s figures describe its own backbone between data centres. Licence terms are summarized from the vendors’ own pages; check your own licence agreement before running a platform on a second computer. This guide covers trading infrastructure only and does not constitute financial advice: trading performance depends on broker execution quality, market conditions, and trader skill, none of which a VPS can fully control. Send corrections through the contact page; we record them in the change log.
